Lectures

WEEK 1
On 7th September, my first lecture class on Illustration and Visual Narrative was with Mr Hafiz Zamri, he introduced us to MIB & assignments and with no further ado, we began our class by creating a 'lemon' using Adobe Illustration.

WEEK 2
Pen Tool & Varmotar challenge

Introduction to Varmator shape and challenge by using the pen tool. We can practice our pen tool at The Bezier game and familiarize it with the pen tool Varmator is the ultimate challenge to your creativity: the aim of the project is to give each student the chance to show their ability to create stunning pieces with limited means.

Each person will get the exact same set of, the. With these shapes, we are challenged to create our own unique design, within the limitations provided in the Rulebook. Designers are thus challenged to create a unique piece within a strict set of rulers. It all comes down to pure skills and creativity in this project.

RULES: Allowed to rotate, flip and duplicate the Elements you have to use all the element scaling is allowed, but proportionally, so skewing or free transform. Can add, subtract, intersect and adobe colours. The gradient is allowed, strokes are allowed as well and allowed to use of filters or effects.

We will need to download the image and use the Pen Tool to draw the shape out.

This is the example given by Mr Hafiz, so we need to list out how many shapes are been used for the character.

Final Character Design

REFLECTION
It is my first attempt at trying to use Adobe Illustration, hence I am not very happy with the design no doubt, however, I took this as a lesson to be more alert and more familiar with the tools of AI.
