REFLECTION

Experience
My entire journey in Typography was quite challenging and exciting. There was some stressful moment back and forth, sometimes I felt that I could not finish my task, displease and dissatisfied with my work and sometimes out of ideas, it was pretty frustrating. However, I cannot keep thinking of it and just give up, on another way, is also a good pressure for me, it helps me to be more organized and explore more on my creativity more. I am delighted to get to know about Typography, as before this module I have zero knowledge about Typography throughout the journey I get to know what are the rules of creating an article and what they do and don't when designing my own font. Learning Typopgrahic has led me to respect all typographers. I think this module allows me to pay more attention to details, as' the devil is in the details.'

Observation
With all the tasks that are given, I have learned to observe the details of font and typefaces, such as good typography establishing a strong hierarchy and it should be optimized for readability and accessibility. Moreover, their variations in characteristics as well as the differences in type design. I never realised that some typefaces are not symmetrical while I was deconstructing and yet they are asymmetrical. Sometimes, I wonder why their font is not symmetrical but yet looks balanced together, thus I find that some of the parts are actually the same, hence the theory of creating a font is, so designers have used asymmetrical composition to create visual tension and it's quite interesting as the development of the character is displayed on their work.

Findings
During the journey of this module, I have found that Typography is not just as easy as it looks, it is more challenging than I expected. Typography not only just puts words or letters and together arranges them in interesting ways, but it also requires lots of research, such as the history of font, and how it was created, there are some intensive rules when creating a font, such as the measurement of the line length, the alignment must be careful, ensure consistencies, understand the kerning and etc. Certainly, there were times when I headlessly on creating my work which no doubt leads me into a more challenging moment as all of the sketch work noticeably that I'm just doing what I want and without research, but now I understand, this is not how Typography works. Although Typography does give me some difficult situations, nevertheless I am glad that I learned about Typography because it opens my eyes and I get to learn a different area.
