Personal Burnout

We are assigned to share our own experiences of burnout:
It was during the year 2022 when I became conscious that I was always feeling a lack of motivation and anxious about my future regardless of education and career pathway. There was a sense of lack of purpose and anxiety behind every decision that I made, although my family and friends are being supportive and always ensured that it is okay even if I make a wrong step, however, I was at the stage of worrying about making a wrong step.

My case is not a serious case but I was at the stage of choosing my major and it will reflect my future, I need to find a major that allows me to study overseas and able to apply for permanent residence in Australia, the system to be able to eligible to apply it was complicated and I was worried that if I have chosen the wrong major, not only wasting time but also may cause financial pressure to my family. But how did I overcome it?

I was lucky that when I was lost, I read a book from 'The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse _ by Charlie Mackesy' one of the famous phrases caught my eye and it soothes my anxiousness. The boy was being anxious and worried: " I can't see a way through." said the boy. "Can you see your next step?" said the horse, "Yes." said the boy, "Just take that." said the horse.

It brings an impactful on me, as I don't need to get to the end of it right now, I do not need to be so worried about a future that is not even happening yet, but I do have to be right here and cherish and make the right decisions and be the best of myself at this moment. Now the pace of life is too fast and sometimes it's hard to keep up and might feel we are the odds one just because we are not as quick as the others, but so what? as long we are enjoying the present, have our own pace, enjoy our own life, that is the most crucial, not following others people standards and just live the best of our life.

We split our parts to do some research about burnout, and for my part, I was in charge of the 'signs & symptoms of burnout'. The information that I have achieved about the sign and symptoms of burnout was about "Burnout is a gradual process, it does not happen overnight, but it can creep up on you if we decide to ignore it, one day we will eventually burn out."

FEEDBACK
Week 5
General Feedback: The sketches' overall styles should be more complete and need to discuss among members the art direction, such as whether are we going for a cute style or more unique ways of sketching.

Specific Feedback: For the sketches from 1a, may consider removing the words 'FAIL' as it may be confusing for starters, and for scenes 1b to 1c the illustrated part is confusing as the audience may not be able to understand the meaning, avoid sketches that require words to explain it needs to be more clearer for the audiences to understand. Other than that, the sketches for the remaining it was good, just need to make some changes for scene 1a to 1c.

Week 6
General Feedback: No feedback is given, as we were not prepared for our first draft of the character or animations.

Week 7
General Feedback: Overall the character design is very cute and easier to understand and the animation part was good

REFLECTION
There are a few parts where I experience quite some challenging moments to complete this task. First, when I was assigned to select a scene to sketch as the first step so we have a direction on how to illustrate and animate it, I wasn't good at sketching especially when sketching a person, it was quite a challenge, but luckily I have such amazing teammates as they guide me through and helped out for some of my bad drawings.

The second part is where we vote for people who are in charge of the illustration and animation, hence I volunteer to do the animation part as I feel that illustrations are more challenging than animations. Throughout the process of animating, I realised that  I enjoy the process of making the animation, and also learned some AE skills on it which was essential for my future usage.

I like the teamwork among my teammates as everyone did their own parts, and the process was all fair and well-orientated, everyone was all being active and shared their opinion, which helps us gain something individually and we respect each other opinions. I like the atmosphere among my teammates and am really glad that I am part of their group.
